Constipation is common. Constipation refers to bowel movements that are infrequent or hard to pass. Constipation is a common cause of painful defecation.

Water and Other Treatments
1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water during the day. Take one or two glasses of water upon waking up in the morning and one glass at bedtime.
2. Have a regular time to sit down on the toilet bowl and relax. Sit down on the toilet bowl when it is time for it even if you don’t feel like it.
3. Have a regular daily exercise.
4. Eat plenty of green and leafy vegetables and fresh fruits.
Option 1. Eat 2 cups of boiled kangkong (water spinach) leaves with meals. This may be a part of the menu or diet.
Option 2. Eat 1 cup cooked malunggay (moringa) leaves with meals.
Option 3. Eat 1 big slice of papaya every morning for breakfast.
